Photography used to be a big hobby for me when I was younger. My school had a dark room which I could use out of school hours, so I used to spend whole afternoons in their being antisocial and playing with the gear. I also had a nice SLR which I loved to death, taking thousands of pictures that i developed myself.

Unfortunately when i turned vegan I found the film is not, so I had to ditch one of my favourite hobbies till I could afford a digital camera. This meant that theres about 3 years of my life from which I have no pictures at all, which I'm kind of upset about, because I did a lot of things back then which I'd like to be able to remember better.

Part of my 21st birthday present in the summer of 2002 was a decent (almost) fully manual digital camera. Not quite as good quality as my SLR, but good enough to start taking photos again. This nice thing about digital is that i can take 150 pictures in a night if i want without paying for processing costs, and write software to display them all online (see my photos site). I haven't really gotten back into taking arty shots, but I have taken f* loads of photos over the past year (about 2800) and almost completely documented what I did in that time. I don't really agree with putting a diary online, but it's pretty cool to have all my photos there. I've seen people who take their cameras *everywhere* and put photos of *everything* online, which is a bit obsessive, but i try to upload photos every couple of weeks. I'm already enjoying looking at pictures from last year on it, and loads of people i know check it regularly too, which is nice :)
