 > Fire > Fire Staff Page 1 of 1
If you've read my firechains page then much of the same applies, but this time instead of chains, a 5 foot pole with a fireball on either end.

Many of the moves are similar to those found in martial arts, with the added fun of fire. I haven't learn as much staff as I have chains, but the main difference between the 2 is that you can easily do high throws with a staff, the height of a house no problem, which looks bloody marvelous! You can also do lots of contact work, where you let go of the staff and it spins around body parts, like your neck, arms, legs etc. A lot of people who do staff also do chains, and vice versa, because you can get effects easily with one which you can't the other. I probably like staff more than chains, but due to the fact that practicing with a staff in my living room is a little harder and I learnt more of my chains moves indoors (they are attached to your hand, theres not a lot that can go wrong other than light bulbs!), I'm much, much better at chains.

It's also possible to spin using 2 staffs at once, either long or short like baton twirling. Am I just a frustrated majorette with pyromaniac tendances? A few pictures for your viewing pleasure:
